About the Client
Mestiza New York was launched as "a women's special occasion brand that offers stylish opulence without the opulent price tag." The two founders created an aesthetic that leans into the glitz and glam of vintage wanderlust while embracing their shared heritage (as "Mestiza" means "a woman of mixed ancestry").
The Situation
The client had been wanting to update their eCommerce store and improve UI/UX elements. However, they were delaying making these changes, so as to not risk ongoing operations. The site was working stabily, after all.
Eventually, they were forced to acknowledge that they were using outdated design elements and that implemented a new design could lead to increased time spent in the site and increased sales. They reached a decision to modernize, contacted us, and set Black Friday as the deadline.
The Solution
A dedicated team consisting of: a project manager and a developer implemented the design changes in conjunction with an outside design agency partner. The design changes were rooted in conversion optimization while reflecting Mestiza's aesthetic and brand. The development was rooted in performance optimization and modernization.
The Results
We quickly implemented a wholly new style for Mestiza's website. We re-worked their homepage to incorporate a design update, their product page to increase sales conversions, and their shopping cart to increase shopping cart conversion & decrease buyer's remorse. The changes were structured to be implemented seamlessly, without disturbing current operations, and to be expanded to other parts of the site when opportunity allows.
